How does the protection work?

BioCor® Foam works according to the VCI method. VCI stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. These inhibitors are released within closed packaging and wrap themselves around like an invisible protective cover, that prevents the metal from reacting with air and moisture. After unpacking, the VCI evaporates without leaving any residue. This means that the packed item can be used directly without additional cleaning.

Detailed description: BioCor® 370 FO

BioCor® corrosion protection foam combines a VCI dispenser and cushioning in a single packaging product.

Thanks to its high flexibility, the foam conforms perfectly to the contours of the component and is particularly well-suited for protecting sharp-edged, delicate, or complex-shaped components. At the same time, it protects the VCI packaging itself from damage.

The foam’s open-cell surface structure enables particularly rapid release of the VCI active ingredients, resulting in a quick build-up of the corrosion-inhibiting atmosphere. This ensures that metal components are reliably protected against corrosion shortly after packaging. If necessary, the foam can be added to existing protective atmospheres to increase the VCI concentration.
