The data controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, etc.).

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You may withdraw any consent you have already given at any time. To do so, simply send us an informal email. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Right to object to data collection in specific cases and to direct marketing (Article 21 of the GDPR)

Where data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) or (f) of the GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. You can find the specific legal basis on which processing is based in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data in question, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims (objection under Article 21(1) of the GDPR).

If your personal data is processed for the purposes of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of such marketing; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will no longer be used for the purposes of direct marketing (objection under Article 21(2) of the GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place where the alleged infringement occurred. This right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data which we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract provided to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place insofar as it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the website operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.

When SSL or TLS encryption is enabled, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

Access, restriction, erasure and rectification

In accordance with the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain, free of charge, information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing, and, where applicable, the right to have this data rectified, restricted or erased. You may contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice regarding this matter and any further questions concerning personal data.

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. To do so, you may contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice. The right to restriction of processing applies in the following cases:

If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data held by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification process, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
If the processing of your personal data has been or is being carried out unlawfully, you may request that the processing of your personal data be restricted instead of it being erased.
If we no longer require your personal data, but you require it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted instead of it being erased.
If you have lodged an objection under Article 21(1) of the GDPR, a balancing of interests between yours and ours must be carried out. Until it has been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent, or for the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims, or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

4. Data collection on our website

Cookies

Some parts of this website use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called ‘session cookies’. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

You can configure your browser so that you are notified when cookies are set and can choose to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, block the acceptance of cookies in specific cases or generally, and enable the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. If you disable cookies, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process or for providing specific functions you have requested are stored on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies to ensure the technically fault-free and optimised provision of its services. Where other cookies (e.g. cookies used to analyse your browsing behaviour) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this privacy policy.

We use the ‘Real Cookie Banner’ consent tool to manage the cookies and similar technologies (tracking pixels, web beacons, etc.) used on this website, as well as the relevant consents. Details on how ‘Real Cookie Banner’ works can be found at https://devowl.io/de/rcb/datenverarbeitung/.
The legal bases for the processing of personal data in this context are Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR and Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used and the relevant consents.
The provision of personal data is neither contractually required nor necessary for the conclusion of a contract. You are not obliged to provide personal data. If you do not provide personal data, we will be unable to manage your consents.

  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address
  • This data is not combined with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in ensuring the technically error-free display and optimisation of its website – to this end, the server log files must be recorded.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the details you provide in the enquiry form – including the contact details you enter there – will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in the event of any follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of the data entered in the contact form is therefore carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time. To do so, simply send us an informal email. The lawfulness of the data processing operations carried out up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. once your enquiry at has been fully processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Enquiries by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, your enquiry, including all personal data contained therein (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of dealing with your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, provided that your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to us.

The data you send to us via contact enquiries will be retained by us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for which the data is stored no longer applies (e.g. once your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Registration on this website

You can register on our website to use additional features on the site. We use the data you provide for this purpose solely for the purpose of using the specific offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory details requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.

In the event of important changes, such as to the scope of our services or technically necessary changes, we will use the email address provided during registration to inform you accordingly.

The processing of the data provided during registration is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, simply send us an informal email. The lawfulness of any data processing that has already taken place remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

We store the data collected during registration for as long as you remain registered on our website, after which it is deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Processing of data (customer and contract data)

We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent that it is necessary for the establishment, content or amendment of the legal relationship (master data). This is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data relating to the use of our website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill them for it.

The customer data collected will be deleted upon completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Data transfer upon conclusion of a contract for online shops, retailers and goods dispatch

No further transfer of data takes place, or only if you have expressly consented to such transfer. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, for example for advertising purposes.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

5. Analytics tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

However, as IP anonymisation is enabled on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google beforehand within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data held by Google.

The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analytics tool are based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

We have enabled the advertising features of Google Analytics. This generates reports on target groups, demographic characteristics such as age, gender and interests of site visitors, as well as on our marketing campaigns. The data for this comes from campaigns carried out via Google services, from Google’s interest-based advertising, the Google Display Network, and from visitor data provided by third parties. Your identity is not directly disclosed to us as a result. With the help of these reports, we can evaluate user behaviour in connection with our online offerings even more effectively and optimise how we address target groups.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. We also use the data provided to us by Google in the reports – exclusively in aggregated, anonymised form – to manage our online marketing activities on our websites or social media platforms (including Meta). Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html, https://support.google.com/optimize/answer/6230273 or https://policies.google.com/.

IP anonymisation

We have enabled the IP anonymisation feature on this website. This means that your IP address is truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data held by Google.

Browser plug-in

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, we would like to point out that, in this case, you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which will prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.

Further information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

Data processing on behalf of a client

We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google and fully comply with the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic features in Google Analytics

This website uses the ‘demographic characteristics’ feature of Google Analytics. This enables reports to be generated that contain information on the age, gender and interests of website visitors. This data is derived from Google’s interest-based advertising and from visitor data provided by third parties. This data cannot be attributed to any specific individual. You can disable this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google Account, or generally prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data as described in the section ‘Objecting to data collection’.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This feature enables the advertising audiences created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked to the cross-device features of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages – which have been tailored to you based on your previous usage and browsing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone) – can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for this purpose. This enables the same personalised advertising messages to be displayed on any device on which you sign in with your Google Account.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data in order to define and create audiences for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently opt out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by disabling personalised advertising in your Google Account; to do so, follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The consolidation of the data collected in your Google Account is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent, which you may give or withdraw via Google (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). In the case of data collection processes that are not consolidated in your Google Account (e.g. because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the consolidation), the collection of data is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymised analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

As part of Google AdWords, we use what is known as conversion tracking. When you click on an advert placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the web browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages on this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked on the advert and was redirected to that page.

Each Google AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to conversion tracking. Clients are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and been redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily disabling the Google conversion tracking cookie via your web browser’s user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of “conversion cookies” and the use of this tracking tool are based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

Further information on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Use of Google Photos and YouTube Images

We embed third-party content on our website to provide you with a better user experience. This includes, amongst other things, images and videos from Google Photos and YouTube.

Google Photos

We use images provided via the Google Photos service. These images are loaded from Google’s servers. In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google, as the content cannot be sent to your browser without it. Google Photos may also use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the services. Further information on data processing by Google Photos can be found in the Google Photos Privacy Policy.

YouTube Images

Our website also uses images provided by YouTube. These images are loaded from YouTube’s servers. Here too, your IP address is transmitted to YouTube. YouTube may also use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the services. Further information on data processing by YouTube can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy.

6. Applicant data

The data you provide will be used exclusively for the purpose of processing your application and is authorised under Article 88 of the GDPR and Section 26 of the BDSG (Federal Data Protection Act).

The data will be deleted six months after the recruitment process has been completed (once the position has been filled by you or another person). Should you agree to us retaining your data in our candidate pool for future job vacancies, we ask that you provide your consent (voluntary consent) by email or post.

You have the right to access the personal data we have collected, as well as the right to rectification, erasure or restriction of processing; the right to object to processing; and the right to data portability. These rights cannot be exercised retrospectively and may affect the application process (e.g. in the event of erasure).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Baden-Württemberg, Königstrasse 10a, 70173 Stuttgart, telephone 0711/615541-0, fax 0711/615541-15, email: poststelle@lfdi.bwl.de

7. Newsletter

Newsletter details

If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require your email address and information that enables us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you consent to receiving the newsletter. No further data is collected, or is collected only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter subscription form is carried out solely on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your data and email address, and to their use for sending the newsletter, at any time, for example via the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of any data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by this withdrawal.

The data you have provided to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted once you have unsubscribed. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

Brevo

This website uses Brevo to send newsletters. The provider is Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany.

Brevo is a service that can be used, amongst other things, to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you have provided for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter is stored on Brevo’s servers in Europe in accordance with the GDPR.

If you do not wish your data to be analysed by Brevo, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message.

Data analysis by Brevo

For analysis purposes, emails sent via Brevo contain a so-called “tracking pixel”, which connects to Brevo’s servers when the email is opened. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened.

Furthermore, with the help of Brevo, we can determine whether and which links in the newsletter message are clicked on. All links in the email are so-called tracking links, which allow your clicks to be counted.

Legal basis

Data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time. The lawfulness of any data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Retention period

The data you have provided to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from both our servers and Brevo’s servers once you have unsubscribed. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

8. Plugins and tools

YouTube with enhanced data protection

Our website uses plugins from YouTube. The operator of the site is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch a video. However, the enhanced privacy mode does not necessarily prevent data from being shared with YouTube partners. For example, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video.

As soon as you play a YouTube video on our website, a connection is established with YouTube’s servers. In doing so, the YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to link your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, after you start a video, YouTube may store various cookies on your device. YouTube uses these cookies to obtain information about visitors to our website. This information is used, amongst other things, to collect video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent fraud. The cookies remain on your device until you delete them.

Where applicable, further data processing operations may be triggered after a YouTube video has been played, over which we have no control.

The use of YouTube is in the interests of presenting our online services in an appealing manner. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, provided by Google, to ensure a consistent display of typefaces. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache to display text and typefaces correctly.

To this end, the browser you are using must establish a connection to Google’s servers. As a result, Google becomes aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interests of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Maps

This site uses the Google Maps mapping service via an API. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

In order to use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this website has no influence over this data transmission.

The use of Google Maps is in the interests of presenting our online services in an appealing manner and ensuring that the locations specified on our website can be easily found. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Further information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

reCAPTCHA is designed to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated programme. To this end, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the purposes of this analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (e.g. IP address, the length of time the website visitor spends on the website, or the mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.

Data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web services from abusive automated scraping and from spam.

Further information on Google reCAPTCHA and Google’s privacy policy can be found at the following links:https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.

Google Tag Manager

On our website, we use Google Tag Manager provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; ‘Google’). This application is used to manage JavaScript tags and HTML tags, which are employed in particular to implement tracking and analytics tools.

The purpose of data processing is to optimise and design our website in line with user needs. Google Tag Manager itself does not store cookies, nor does it process any personal data. However, it enables the triggering of other tags that may collect and process personal data.

Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/
